It allows you to securely fasten an HDMI Male to HDMI Female Cable to your system, helping prevent the cable from coming loose while shooting and protecting the port on your camera body.

This can be especially helpful when using an external recorder. NOTE: This does not clamp directly onto most third-party HDMI cables.
