This camera cage provides complete protective armor for the Sony a7S III camera.

It provides several 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 mounting points, two cold shoe mounting points, one rosette connection to allow you to attach various side handles, as well as an opening for a single 15mm rod.

The base of the cage also provides several mounting holes when attaching your camera to gimbals to more easily fine tune the balance of your setup.

A variety of different baseplates can be attached to the bottom of the cage, allowing for various rod mounting and optional power supply configurations.

The quick release top handle and various optional side handles can be attached to the cage to provide for different ways to comfortably operate your camera setup.

This kit of the Sony a7S III cage will help to fully build out your setup. It includes: the Full Camera Cage for Sony a7S III, quick release top handle, Arca and Manfrotto quick release baseplates, a 15mm LWS baseplate for mounting accessories (as well as 15mm rods for the plate), a male HDMI to female HDMI adapter, a clamp to attach the HDMI adapter comfortably to the cage, and finally a Left Side Advanced Power Handle with Run/Stop that can attach to the side of the cage (as well as a compatible run/stop cable for the Sony a6/a7/a9).

Almost perfect

The main thing I love about this kit is that it has everything you need, so you don't need to keep buying additional things for it. The cage has a really nice fit so its not as bulky as pervious SmallRig cages that I have. The left side has a nato rail, and the top also has a nato rail, there's also a slot for a 15mm rail built in to the cage. When you buy a SmallRig cage these are all add ons that add even more bulk.
I really love how easy it is to pull apart when I just need my camera for handheld photography. I leave the rod system on the tripod and just slide out the camera. Even the cage with the mounting plate has a smart design where you have a hole in the middle of the base plate so you have direct access to the screw that mounts in the cage.
There are 2 things that I don't like about this kit though.
1. The top handle has a 1/4 20 with arri locating pins mounted vertically instead of horizontally. This is where I attach my monitor, and I couldn't use my existing monitor mount. I've worked around this somewhat by mounting a nato rail, even though it sticks out on the sides.
2. The cage covers the mode dial and some of the exposure dial on the right. I wish they made that section thinner instead of trying to add in that additional mount point (I think its 1/4 20 with locating pins). There's no work around for this, you just have to deal with it.
The price is steep, but when you compare the features to a SmallRig build, you'll see how much value you are getting out of this cage in smaller footprint. If you're not ready to get the pro kit, I would highly recommend the cage over SmallRig because you get those built in nato rails and 15mm rod clamp in the cage.
